Chris Esposito

Chris Esposito, but we all call him "Espo"


Chris grew up in Crystal Lake, Illinois where he still commutes to work with goalies on a regular basis in addition to working at Goalcrease.  He has also served as goalie coach for the state champion Blake School girls varsity.

  • Espo started playing roller hockey at 6 and he was encouraged to try goaltending.
  • At age 9 he went into ice hockey. He was a second year squirt.
  • His favorite youth moment was playing pewee gold and going to Canada where his team won the Gretkzy tournament.
High School:
  • Chris attended Prairie Ridge high school from 2005-2008.
  • He played for his high school team for 3 years.
  • He played varsity his senior year and had 13 shutouts including a key 4-0 win over Barrington. 
  • He had only 5 losses during the regular season.
  • He took his team to final 8 in state junior and senior year.
  • Espo was goalie of the year for Metro Central.
Beyond High School:
  • After two career ending knee injuries, Espo graduated from Columbia College of Missouri with his Bachelor's degree in Business Management & Marketing.
Goalcrease History:
  • After high school Chris started coaching with Robb Stauber in Chicago and at Goalcrease camps throughout the Midwest. 
  • Chris has been a certified Goalcrease instructor since 2011.
Current Life and Hockey Highlights:
  • Espo moved to Minnesota in August of 2011 to work at Goalcrease. His long term goal is to coach goalies for a professional team.
