The Staubar is not to be used in a game.
The Staubar is designed for on ice training only.
Serious injury can occur if the Staubar is not worn with a
chest protector.
Never attempt a ‘deck’ or double-pad stack save
while wearing the Staubar.
Staubar Classic Belt adjustments
- Measure the circumference of your
chest with your chest protector on. This measurement should
be made about five inches below the neck of your chest
protector.
- Next, to determine the length of the underarm straps, take
the circumference measurement from step 1., and adjust each strap
to 1/2 that measurement. (Example Circumference = 48"
each strap should be 24" from the strap end to the loop on
the back of the belt assembly). Adjust each underarm strap to
length. The tri-glide belt adjuster should be adjusted as close
as possible to the loop on the back of the belt assembly.
- The shoulder straps should be
adjusted for the proper alignment on chest. The belt should
place the bar midway between the shoulder and elbow. The top
of the belt is position correctly when the distance between
the top of the belt and neck of the chest protector is about
five inches.
- The shoulder pads should be adjusted to maximize comfort
on neck. However the shoulder pads are not required and
can be removed. Excess shoulder strapping can be looped
back under the shoulder pads.
Notes:
- To take-up excess underarm strapping for goalies smaller than
36" chest. Loop the straps through the slots in the back
support of the belt. Loop from the outside to inside this keeps
the loop and belt adjuster from directly contacting the players
back.
- The belt must be tight and the bar must be placed above
the elbow to function correctly.
- After putting on your chest
protector and practice jersey. Place the belt over your head
with the bar mounting assembly in the front of your body and
the back support straps in the back.
- Reaching with your left hand pull
the left side strap towards the front of your body routing
the strap through the metal loop on the edge of the belt.
Pull the strap to the right edge of the bar support flap
under the Staubar logo. Secure the Velcro to the front of
the belt.
- Next, reach with your right hand
pull the right side strap towards the front of your body
routing the strap through the metal loop on the edge of the
belt. Pull the strap tight and secure the Velcro to the
front of the belt. The strap should come close to the left
edge of the bar support flap under the Staubar logo.
- Attaching the bar, pull down the
flap with the Staubar logo on it to expose the mounting
plate assembly. Position the bar with the arm cradle ends
up. Align the bar pins with the holes in the mounting plate
and push in.
- Finally, pull the bar flap over the bar and secure by
connecting the Velcro.
The Staubar should be worn over the chest protector and jersey.
It should be adjusted so that the bar is approximately 2"above
the elbow.
