General Background:
Jeff grew up in Edina Minnesota; he started playing hockey at age 6 and never stopped.
Hockey Background:
Youth Hockey:
* Started playing hockey at age 6, made the switch to goalie at age 11.
* Played 2 years of Squirt Hockey as a skater, switched to goalie during his first year of Pee-Wee's.
* In 1994 his team became the Bantam A State Tournament Consolation Champions.
* As a Bantam A played Jeff played two games as a forward, and scored two goals.
High School:
* Jeff attended Edina High School from 1995-1998.
* Jeff played 2 years of JV and 2 years of Varsity for Edina HS.
* His team won the 1997 State Championship (1-0 over Duluth East).
* During the 1998 Section Finals Jeff's team won a 6 overtime game, still the longest section final in history.
* Once held a streak of 11 shutout overtime periods through most of 2 seasons.
* Jeff held a 12-1 win/loss record in one goal games (the only loss came against Roseau in overtime of the '98 state quarter-finals)
Beyond High School:
* After High School Jeff attended Bethel College, earning a bachelors degree in Phys Ed, but his favorite classes were in theology and Biblical studies.
* Started for Bethel for 3 years between 1998-2002.
Goalcrease History:
* Jeff began coaching at the Stauber/Ostby Goalie camps in 1998.
* Jeff began working full time for the Goalcrease when it opened in 2002.
* In 2005 Jeff became the Goalcrease Coaching Director.
* Jeff's duties include curriculum development for all Goalcrease training programs, overseeing all Goalcrease instructors, and training new coaches.
* Jeff has overseen the training of many high caliber goalies including a handful of NHL draft picks.
Current Life and Hockey Highlights:
Jeff currently resides in Eden Prairie with his wife, Brandi, daughter Taelyn, and son Stone.
